Donna Pauline (Schindler) Ranum

Donna Pauline (Schindler) Ranum, age 89 of Monroe, died Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Lamont, WI, the daughter of Milton and Kathryn (Kammerude) Hendrickson. She graduated from Blanchardville High School. Donna married Delbert Schindler on December 31, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville; he preceded her in death in 1994. She was united in marriage to Paul Ranum on November 1, 2000 in Janesville.

Donna worked at Marcos Supper Club; she later owned and operated Crystal Tower Café. She retired from Pleasant View Nursing Home, in 1995. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church. She loved doing word search, going to the casino, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sporting events.

Donna is survived by her children: Dennis (Faye) Schindler of Tom Brooks, VA, Deborah (Fred) Thommen of Monroe, Diane Samelstad of Monroe, Daryl (Kathy) Schindler of Baraboo, Doug (Patti) Schindler of New Glarus, Dale Schindler of Elkhorn, Denise (Ward) Steinmann of Juda, Dan (Penny) Schindler of Baraboo, Danette (Betsy Krantz) Williams of Monroe, Dawn (Ted) White of Belleville; daughter-in-law, Deb Schindler of Monroe; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Nancy) Hendrickson of Blanchardville and Jim (Peggy) Hendrickson of Hollandale; sisters, Betty (Burt) Schuldt of Sheboygan, Judy (Ed) Grabow of Monroe, Millie Francois of Belleville, and Virginia (Howie) Von Ruden of Cashton; and Paul Ranum’s family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Duane Schindler; grandsons, Troy and Danny; brothers, Milton and Andrew Hendrickson; a special aunt, Gen Kelly; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willy Stokes, Jerry Francois, Robert and Arlene Foltz, Frank and LaVera Hall, and Pat Hendrickson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will immediately follow service in Calvary Cemetery.
