Donna Marie Ellingson, age 77, of Monroe passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born the daughter of Chester and Esther (Paulson) Thompson on May 28, 1947 in Steven’s Point. She attended Blanchardville Grade School and was a 1965 graduate of Blanchardville High School. Donna was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Ellingson on June 23, 1990 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Donna proudly took care of her family and her home. She also devoted numerous hours as a volunteer at the Monroe Clinic. She was a longtime member of the Jordan Lutheran Church in Browntown and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Monroe. Donna had many talents including quilting and crocheting. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her son, Mike (Peggy) Corbin; 6 grandchildren, Jesse, Cassidy, and Presly Hauser, Kayla (Dalton) Runyan, Amber (fiancé, Adam Campbell) Corbin, and Mike Corbin; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Alice Runyan, and Eden Campbell. When Donna married Gene, they joined their families together; she is also survived by Gene’s children, Jean (Steve) Wenger, and Becky (Barry) Tunstall; daughter-in-law, Mary Ellingson; 20 more grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Alvin (Bonnie) Thompson, Cathy (Gary) Stamm, Carol (Bernie) Gilbertson, Paul (Cappy) Thompson; brother-in-law, Don Mullen; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; daughter, Debbie Jones; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Runyan in infancy; her twin sister, Diana Mullen; Gene’s son, David Ellingson; and grandson, Adam Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00PM (noon) on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Jordan Lutheran Church in Browntown with Pastor Rick Haworth officiating. Burial will follow service in the Jordan Lutheran Cemetery.
