Delmar Duane Zettle, age 90, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born the son of Clinton and Pearl Zettle on April 12, 1931 in Oneco Township. He graduated 8th grade from a rural country school. Delmar was united in marriage to Virginia R. Zettle on December 22, 1951.
Delmar started farming after he finished school and continued until 1995, when he and Virginia moved to Monroe. He loved playing cards, especially bid Euchre; and he was a John Deere enthusiast. Delmar was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Juda and the Stateline Square Dancers.
Delmar is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Virginia; two sons, Brian (Kim) Zettle of Juda and Brad (Lisa) Zettle of Monroe; four grandchildren, Tess and Bryce Zettle, Bailey (Luke) Miller, and Brayden Zettle; brothers, Clinton and Dwight (Rosella) Zettle; and sister, Karen (Frank) Schultz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; foster brother, Wayne Zettle and brother, Ivan Zettle in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Jahn officiating. Burial will follow service in the Staver Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Delmar’s name. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
