David W. Moon, age 69, of Monroe passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the SSM Health Hospital.  He was born on March 1, 1955 the son of William and Letta (Speich) Moon.  He graduated from Monroe High School in 1973.  After high school, David attended UW Eau Claire where he received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration.  He then went on to the Florida Institute of Technology graduating in 1982 with his Master’s Degree.

David worked in the wholesale division for Green County Foods as well as being an internet merchandiser for Swiss Colony until his retirement.  He was a member of the Monroe Country Club.  He was an avid golfer and reader; over the years he grew a large book collection. David lived throughout the US including Florida, California, and Mississippi; during his time in Mississippi, he enjoyed visiting New Orleans for Mardi Gras and was once crowned the King of his Mardi Gras Krewe. Most of all David enjoyed time spent with his family and dearly loved his nieces and nephews.  He was affectionately known as Santa to his family because of his white beard, his boisterous “ho,ho,ho” and his jingle bells. 

David is survived by his mom, Letta Moon; brothers, Mike (Vicki) Moon and Steve (Lisa) Moon; nieces and nephews, Jackie (fiancé, Taylor Triebold) Moon, Angela (Jay) Schumacher, Kirsten (Adam) Steinmann, Erica (Justin) Foulker, Gabe Moon, and Ben Moon; and many great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William; great-nephew, Dan Kundert; maternal grandparents, Ada and Roy Speich; and paternal grandparents, Joy and Chuck Thrasher.
