David J. Severson age 76 of Monroe, died Monday, September 2, 2019 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born on May 13, 1943 in Monroe, the son of Henry and Leila (Helmeid) Severson. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1961. David married Donna R. French on March 12, 1982 in Monroe. He worked at Roys Dairy, Huber Brewery, and the Swiss Colony as a truck driver. David and his wife Donna owned and operated Graceland Manor in Monroe.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church; he enjoyed going to the casino, camping, Green Bay Packer,taking care of his yard and his dogs, Scooter and Hunter. He was a devoted, kind family man.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Monroe; 5 children: Jody (Kevin) Hauser of Monroe, Angela Luebke of Monroe, Scott (Lori Melland) Neuenschwander of South Wayne, Vance Neuenschwander of Monroe and Amy Bates of Monroe; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Darlene (Gilbert) Koch of Brodhead, Janet Frauchiger of Monroe and Mary Severson of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Gloria McCool; brother-in-laws: Dan McCool and Walt Frauchiger; great granddaughter, Delilah Luebke.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
