Craig R. Schmidt, age 59 of Elkhorn, formerly of Monroe, died Monday, June 17, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born on October 25, 1959 in Monroe, the son of Roger and Marjorie (Patrick) Schmidt. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1978. Craig married Bobbi Blum on April 20, 2001 in Jamaica.

Craig was a very skilled mechanic for many years, over the years he has moved into leadership positions, with the most current as service director at Bud Weiser Motors in Beloit. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. Craig was a part of the Monroe Fire Department for 10-12 years. He was the Former president of Stateline Trail Blazers. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boats, and corvettes.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbi of Elkhorn; son, Hans (Brooke) Schmidt of Monroe; mother, Marjorie (Sheldon Steiner) Schmidt of Monroe; 3 grandchildren: Braxton, Kolt and Oaklee; brother, Tim (Nancy) Schmidt of Monroe; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger and his brother, Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday June 21, 2019 at St. Johns United Church of Christ with Reverend Kathleen Rinear officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
