Cleone McCoy age 93 peacefully passed away at Menomonee Falls Health Services in Menomonee Falls, WI on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1931, to her esteemed parents, Orville and Alice Shepherd.  Cleone was united in marriage to Gordon McCoy on January 5, 1950, at the bride's home in Shullsburg, WI.  She and her husband farmed and raised their family in rural Shullsburg.  Later in life they moved to South Wayne where she began her career as a housekeeper at the Monroe Clinic until her retirement.  

Cleone is survived by her six children: Janet (Gary) Wiegel of Martintown, WI, Eunice (Lyle) Simmons of Menomonee Falls, WI, Ray (Rose) McCoy of Gratiot, WI, Sheila (Curt) Johnsrud of Monroe, WI, Randy (Suzy) McCoy of Monticello, WI, Rick (Tanya) McCoy of Monroe, WI, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  She is further survived by her two sisters: Sue (Bruce) McClain, Joan Breitzman and one son-in-law: Jerry Lee.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Gordon in 2008, one daughter: Cathy Lee, one great grandson: Jonah Wiegel; and five siblings: Carl Shepherd, Paul Shepherd, Della Hocking, Dorothy Isely, Belva Farrey.

When Cleone wasn't helping on the farm or caring for her children she enjoyed reading a good book, watching her favorite westerns, cooking and baking for her family and friends, most notably her famous sugar cookies. She loved spending time in the garden both the flower and vegetable gardens and playing croquet on a warm summer's day.  

In her journey through life, Cleone exemplified strength, resilience, and grace. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she has touched. As she is laid to rest, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the love and light she brought into the world.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 1:00 PM at the Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg (235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg, WI 53586.  A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 11:00AM- 12:45 at the Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg.  Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg.  The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
