une 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Manor. She was born on November 9, 1944 in Monroe, the daughter of Elwin “Al” and Arlene (Grossen) DeVoe. Carol was a graduate of Monroe High School. She married Bill Thomas and later married Frank Degenhardt. 

Carol was a secretary at Moore Business Forms for 20 plus years until her retirement. She was a member of The Monroe Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Carol enjoyed online shopping; buying hats, jewelry and loved showing them off at the Hall and to the public. She was a very unique person; laughing and enjoying life to the fullest with her wonderful friends at the Hall. She will be greatly missed at St. Elizabeth’s. She also enjoyed sports; having had season Badger game tickets in Madison for many years. Her greatest enjoyments were football, NASCAR, horse races and spending time with family; making people feel good about themselves where ever she went or lived. She loved all animals and had a cat for 19 years. She loved dancing any chance she got and playing domino games with her family. 

Survivors include her sister, Linda DeVoe of Oconomowoc, WI; children, Kathy (Mike) Dayberry, (grandkids Sarah and Shane) of Kansas City, MO; Dawn (Rich) Degenhardt, of Rockford, IL; and Dolan (Emily) Degenhardt, (grandkids, Noah Delamater of Madison, and Kael, Sera, Echo of Chippewa Falls, WI). 

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Damon. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Monroe. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home from 2:00pm-5:00pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
