Brian F. Liegel, age 65, of Waukesha, formerly of Monroe, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his sister’s home, Cindy Egger, in Monroe after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1954 in Baraboo, the son of Fred and Esther (Elmer) Liegel. He attended St. Victor’s Catholic School and Monroe High School.
Brian served in the U.S. Navy. He was a CNC lathe operator for Metal Era in Waukesha. He enjoyed working on computers and woodworking. Brian also earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.
Brian is survived by his children, Brent Liegel of Clinton, WI and Amanda Jefson of Snoqualmie, WA; five grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Dave) Beightol of Monroe, Randy (Deborah) Goodman of Reedsburg, Larry (Emily) Liegel of Janesville, Mark Liegel of NC, Kevin (Linda) Liegel of NC, Susan (Dan) Heather of St. Charles, IL, and Cindi (Lowell) Egger of Monroe; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe, with Monsignor Larry Bakke as celebrant. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family.
