Betty E. Johnson, age 90 of Wiota, WI passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at her home in Wiota surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 18, 1929 in South Wayne, WI the daughter of Charles and Helma (Hanson) Denure. Betty was born and raised in the South Wayne area where she graduated from South Wayne High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gordon Johnson, on November 22, 1948 at West Wiota Lutheran Church in Wiota. Following their marriage, Betty moved to Wiota where she has resided since.

Betty is survived by her sons: Gerald “ Jerry” Johnson of Stoughton, WI and James (Kathy) Johnson of Wiota, WI; her grandchildren: Ryan Mitchell, Barry (Calyn) Milz, Mandy (Dennis) Johnsen, Jenna (Paul Bolan) Milz, Amy (Paul) Drye, Andrew Johnson, and Jessica (Joe) Martin; 11 great-grandchildren; her twin sister: Dorothy Binns of Oconomowoc, WI; two sons-in-law: Matthew Mitchell of Verona, WI and Don Milz of Monroe, WI and a sister-in-law: Sharon Johnson of Wiota. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gordon; two daughters: Lynn Mitchell and Joan Milz; a brother: Charles “Chuck” Denure; and her parents-in-law: Clarence (Clara) Johnson.

Betty was a long-time member of Wiota Lutheran Church and was a proud member of their WELCA. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and yard, watching the birds; baking, and sewing. Betty was an avid Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever. Betty will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 Highway 78, South Wayne, WI) with Rev. Traci Maass officiating. Burial will be in West Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. at the church.
