Benjamin David Pakes, age 33, of Madison passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at his home. He was born the son of David and Karen (Tracey) Pakes on August 15, 1986 in Janesville. Ben was a 2005 graduate of Monroe High School; he also went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from UW-Madison.
Ben worked as an engineer for Mercury Marine and John Deere as well as Advance Assembly. He had a generous spirit and was always willing to help family and friends. Ben was an avid sports fan of the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. He had a great recall of former games, plays, and stats. Ben enjoyed golfing, fishing, and time spent with family. He adored spending time with his nephews.
Ben is survived by his parents, David and Karen Pakes of Monroe; siblings, Anna (Kyle) Gannon of Oregon and Phillip (Jenna) Pakes of Inver Grove, MN; three nephews, Dominik and Evan Gannon, and Jackson Pakes; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Rosemary Pakes of Janesville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Karen Tracey.
