Arthur G. Whipple, age 92, of Monroe passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the SSM Health Monroe Hospital.  He was born on February 18, 1932 the son of William and Jessie (Cole) Whipple.  He graduated from Monroe High School.  On December 19, 1952 Arthur was united in marriage to Letha Stuessy at Immanuel EUB Church in Monroe.

Art's career in maintenance began at the Green County Highway Department, continued at Advance Transformer and St. Clare Hospital for many years.  He was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts throughout most of his life. Beginning as a Cub Scout and later becoming a Boy Scout leader.  Recognition of his commitment came through the prestigious Silver Beaver Award and the highest honor in The Order of the Arrow, The Vigil - honors that spoke to his dedication to the Boy Scouts.  He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, the Monroe Theatre Guild, Green County Food Pantry, the Green County Historical Society, MAC, and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center.  Art enjoyed giving back he spent his time volunteering and was a faithful blood donor.  Above all, the centerpiece of Art's life was the time he spent with his cherished family.

Art is survived by his children, Toby (Linda) Whipple of Muskego, Ranele (Jim) Connors and Randy (Melody) Whipple both of Monroe; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Brody) Plantenberg, Graham Connors, Ryan (Amanda) Whipple, Brady (Larissa) Whipple, and Matthew (Danielle) Whipple; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Evonne (Harold) Cullen and Nancy (Vernon) Friedrichs.   

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Monroe United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.   

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
