Alvin R. Strahm, age 77, of Monroe, died on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on November 20, 1942, the son of Frederick R. and Olga M. (Minnig) Strahm. Alvin was a graduate of Juda High School. Alvin married Joan Burington and together they had two children.
Alvin served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he was stationed in the reserves in Europe for 2 years. Alvin was employed at Lugano Cheese Factory and then worked at Moore Business Forms until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and a Scoutmaster for Troop 180. He enjoyed going to casinos and taking road trips to visit people. He was an avid sports fan of the Cubs and especially the Bears. He was always a fun-loving person and enjoyed getting together with family and friends, he especially was known for his good sense of humor.
He is survived by his children: Alisa Strahm of Superior, Michael (Paula Brandao) Strahm of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Michael Strahm Jr., Alana Strahm, Dylan Damrow, and Christopher Paplior; 1 great-grandchild, Madelyn Damrow, and twin brother, Calvin (Teresa) Strahm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Joan.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Burial will take place following service in Greenwood Cemetery.
