Erickson, Alexander (Alex): January 22, 1930 — June 7, 2018. Funeral Service 11am, June 20, 2018, Downing & Lahey West Chapel, 10515 W. Maple, Wichita, Kansas. Alex was born in Argyle, WI to Edmund and Mildred Erickson. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War and graduated with a mining degree from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Platteville. He worked as a petroleum engineer in Canada, Oklahoma, Texas, South Dakota and Kansas. He developed an enhanced oil recovery process used by petroleum companies throughout the country. Alex was a past president of the Petroleum Club in Wichita. He is survived by his wife Mary; sons, Tim (Diana) Erickson of Durango, CO; Alexander Erickson, Jr. of Argyle, WI; stepsons, Don Bush, Wichita, and Tim (Robin) Bush of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Shelley (Mark) Masterson and Leslie Cain of TN; stepdaughters, Cathy Bush of Houston, TX, Laura (Dave) Kalitta of Belle Plaine, KS; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Erickson, Robert Erickson, and Jeff Williams; sisters, Gretchen Resan (Tom) and Janet Reimer; and best friend, Buddy (his dog). He was preceded in death by his parents; deceased wife, Phyllis Teehan Erickson; brothers, Calvin Erickson, Ed Erickson, Duane Erickson, John Williams and sister, Marian Reininger. Alex, always a gentleman, was known for his generosity and ever-present twinkle in his eye. He was loved by everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Harry Hines Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 or Driftless Area Land Conservancy, 206 S. Iowa Street, Dodgeville, WI 53533. A graveside service for family will be held at Calvary Cemetery, St. Victor, 29th Ave., Monroe, WI on July 28th at 11am.
