MONROE - The Madison Youth Choirs' Cantabile and Ragazzi choir groups will perform a selection of holiday music at the Monroe Arts Center's 2011 Holiday Concert. The free concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at MAC, 1315 11th St.

There are more than 75 members in the choirs, including Monroe youths Colin Callahan, Natalie Callahan and Avery Erb.

The Madison Youth Choirs perform annually with the Madison Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Michael Ross will direct the choirs.

Actor Richard Hilger will read Paul Gallico's short story "The Snow Goose" with choral accompaniment for the first time. Last year, Hilger adapted and directed a radio production of "A Christmas Carol" for MAC.

The choirs will be accompanied on the piano by Daniel Lyons.

In addition, the first 50 people at the concert will receive a free MAC commemorative holiday ornament.

The concert will also conclude MAC's 2011 Holiday Silent Auction. Auction items are on display in MAC's Wesley Hall and bids are being accepted until 7:15 p.m. Friday.

More information is available by calling MAC at (608) 325-5700 or (888) 596-1249, or online at www.monroeartscenter.com.
