MONROE - A Monroe woman died Friday from injuries she suffered when she was struck by a car Sunday.
Ann E. Niederberger, 82, was struck at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday by a vehicle driven by Carol J. Krupke, 63, Monroe at the intersection of 6th Street and 22nd Avenue on Monroe's northeast side.
She was taken to Monroe Clinic Hospital by Green County Emergency Medical Services. She later was transferred to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, according to Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley.
Kelley said this was the first traffic fatality in Monroe in more than 15 years.
A police department spokesman said late Friday he couldn't release any further information because the case remains under investigation.
No charges have been filed.
