MONROE - A Monticello woman who allegedly caused disturbances at her residence and in the emergency room of Monroe Clinic Thursday is out on bail.

Annabelle B. Canaday, 50, Monticello, signed a $2,000 signature bond Monday that orders her not to drink or have violent or abusive contact with a woman she knows.

Canaday faces a felony count of battery to a law enforcement officer, two counts each of disorderly conduct and bail jumping and one count of resisting arrest.

Police responded to a report of an argument at Canaday residence in the 100 block of Main Street Thursday evening. According to court records, Canaday wanted money from the woman.

When police arrived, she yelled and swore at them through her apartment door, court documents show. She came out and was arrested, but reportedly continued to berate officers and act in a "resistive and uncooperative" fashion.

After she refused to take a preliminary breath test, police transported her to the hospital, where she allegedly kicked an officer in the arm, causing minor injuries. Police obtained a medical clearance and took Canaday to jail.

The bail jumping charges stem from her allegedly violating conditions of a $1,000 bond she signed April 23 that ordered her not to drink or commit new crimes.

Canaday has a status conference July 17.
