BRODHEAD - A 92-year-old Brodhead woman has died of injuries sustained in a May 13 rollover accident in the Town of Decatur, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Velda A. Olson had been hospitalized since mid-morning on Sunday, May 13, when she was extricated from an overturned car at the intersection of Wisconsin 11 and Wisconsin 104 by the Brodhead Fire Department and transported to Janesville Mercy Hospital by Brodhead EMS.
The sheriff's department was notified Tuesday, May 22, that Olson died of her injuries. It is Green County's fourth traffic fatality of 2012.
Olson was reportedly driving a 1997 Buick Century westbound on Wis. 11 when she passed through the four-way stop with Wis. 104 without stopping, veered off the north side of Wis. 11, and the vehicle overturned. She was wearing a seatbelt, and the airbags deployed.
