BRODHEAD - A Blanchardville woman was arrested on a charge of being armed while intoxicated late Wednesday, May 16, after Green County deputies were called to check on her welfare at a residence northwest of Brodhead.
Julie M. Goecks, 48, was jailed after deputies, Brodhead Police and Albany EMS responded at 11:23 p.m. to a call for a welfare check at residence in the N4100 block of Oakhill Circle in the Town of Decatur. The caller told dispatch she was concerned for Goecks' welfare.
When law enforcement arrived, Goecks tried to flee the driveway in a vehicle, throwing a handgun out the window and backing into a Brodhead Police squad car, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Minor damage to the squad car and no injuries were reported.
Goecks was released from jail Thursday on a $1,000 signature bond, on the conditions she not drink alcohol, possess firearms or have contact with the residence on Oakhill Circle.
She has a pre-trial conference scheduled for June 19 on the Class A misdemeanor charge.
