FREEPORT - The Winneshiek Players open their 87th season with the play "Same Time, Next Year" on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Winneshiek Playhouse, 228 West Clark St.
The play centers around Doris and George, who enjoy similar interests. Both are faithful parents and devoted spouses and have no intentions of leaving their families. Yet on the same weekend each year, they escape to a charming country inn in northern California in pursuit of guilty pleasures. How Doris and George spend those weekends is the subject of Bernard Slade's "Same Time, Next Year," a romantic comedy produced by the Winneshiek Players.
