MONROE - The City of Monroe Common Council passed an ordinance Wednesday, repealing and recreating Chapter 12 of Title 3 of the Monroe City Code: Weights and Measures. The ordinance directs the city to access owners and licensees of weighing and measuring devices for inspection fees and other costs from the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
The city has previously paid the inspection fees.
The Finance and Taxation Committee recommended to Council Wednesday to set a fee of $10 for all weights and measures licenses issued for measuring devices.
