MONROE - The Sun Prairie man suspected of breaking into and stealing from a Monroe business earlier this month turned himself in to Dane County authorities Wednesday.

Robert J. Olson, 22, was charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and theft after a man resembling him was recorded by security cameras breaking into Discount America Hobby & Motorsports in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue in Monroe on Sept. 7.

The subject in the security video was seen stealing a large remote-controlled car worth $1,500. The current whereabouts of the car is unknown.

Olson turned himself in to Dane County authorities on charges he faces in that county, according to a Monroe Police press release. Olson currently faces several retail theft charges in multiple Wisconsin counties.

After the court process in Dane County, he will appear in Green County on his charges here.

Olson is no longer wanted by Monroe Police.
