BEAVER DAM (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker doesn't yet want to endorse any of his fellow Republicans who remain in the race for president.
Walker made the disclosure Friday while taking questions from reporters for the first time since abruptly dropping out of the presidential race on Monday.
"Who knows. I might," he said when asked if he would endorse any current GOP candidates. "But I think right now the focal point has got to be focused on my job here in Wisconsin."
The governor wouldn't discuss his abandoned White House bid, saying he didn't want to dissect what went wrong during his 70-day campaign.
Walker reiterated that he plans to stay on as governor through the end of his term in 2018, and remains undecided about seeking a third term. He emphasized he doesn't want to run for U.S. Senate in three years and isn't interested in joining the administration of a Republican president.
"I'm not aiming for some Cabinet position," Walker said after touring Apache Stainless Equipment Corporation. "I'm really just focused on being governor. ... I've got the best job in the country. I'm happy to go back to my day job."
He was more circumspect when asked whether he would be interested in being a vice presidential candidate.
"Who know who the nominee is or who that person would want, or not want, in terms of their running mate," Walker said. "I'm just focused on being governor and I'm going to be here. I've got three more years left and plenty of things to do."
When he announced he was dropping out of the race Monday, Walker took a dig at front-runner Donald Trump, encouraging others in the race to clear the field to find an alternative to the billionaire real estate mogul.
On Friday, Walker said he didn't want to revisit or expand upon his comments from earlier in the week.
Walker's standing in the race plummeted with the rise of Trump, and he dropped out this week after fundraising dried up.
