UW Extension seminar to be held in February

PLATTEVILLE - UW Extension will be hosting a seminar for veterinarians, feed distributors and livestock producers Feb. 10 at the Agriculture Technology Center, Pioneer Farm, Platteville.

The seminar will focus on Veterinary Feed Directive in the morning with Kory Stalsberg, dairy and livestock agent, addressing the understanding of VFD and responsibilities of livestock producers. Dr. Nathan Pyatt, from Elanco, will discuss the new Food and Drug Administration guidelines and requirements for the use of antibiotics in feeds for livestock producers. Dr. Jen Rediske, from Veterinary Associates, will address VFD impact on the relationship producers have with veterinarians and feed mills and the documentation process of VFD's. A catered lunch will be served and the afternoon will consist of Beef Quality Assurance Certification, conducted by Adam Hady, UW Extension agriculture agent.

The VFD and BQA seminar registration begins at 9:45 a.m. with coffee and rolls. The morning seminar will begin at 10 a.m. and will finish after lunch. Morning registration for the seminar and meal is $15. Full registration for the seminar, meal, and BQA certification is $30 and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided by The Lunch Bus.
