MONROE - The City of Monroe Street and Sanitation Department has special days for various trash disposal.
• Items containing Freon may be picked up through May 14.
Items requiring a Freon sticker (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units and dehumidifiers) will be picked up curbside at the cost of $15 per sticker. Stickers must be purchased at City Hall or the Street Department Administration Building.
Items are picked up the rest of the year on an individual basis at a higher cost.
• Free yard waste drop off will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, April 28, May 5, May 26, June 9, June 30, July 7, July 28, Aug. 11, Aug. 25, Sept. 8, Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and 27.
Also from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, Sept. 18 and Oct. 16.
