The 13 editorial awards were the most for the Times in a number of years, Editor Jeff Rogers said.

"Having gone through a redesign in the past year, it was especially gratifying to have done so well," Rogers said. "What was most satisfying was that the awards encompassed the entire staff, from news reporters to sports to photography. We're especially proud of having earned second place in the General Excellence category. That's an award that encompasses every aspect of your newspaper, including advertising."
