DARLINGTON - Two Darlington men and a teenager have been charged with stealing a dog and shooting it in the head.

Aaron Nielsen, 38; Troy Jamison, 24; and an unnamed Darlington 15-year-old have been charged for their involvement in dog-napping and cruelty to an animal. Nielsen reportedly told Jamison and the teen to find the dog that had bitten Nielsen's daughter, take it and kill it, according to a news release from Darlington Police Chief Jason King.

Jamison and the teen reportedly untied the dog from its home on Catherine Street without the permission of its owner, took it outside city limits, tied it to a tree and shot it.

King said the dog died from a gunshot to the head.

The dog was vaccinated. The police have no record of any other incidents involving the dog.
