DARLINGTON - An Argyle man, an Argyle woman and a Rockton man were arrested after a Lafayette County Sheriff's Department investigation of illegal activities near Argyle resulted in seizing about $168,000 of marijuana and hashish Tuesday.
Lafayette County Sheriff's deputies, SLANT agents, Monroe Police officers and members of the joint Monroe/Lafayette County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (ERT) searched the home located along Puddledock Road in rural Argyle late Tuesday evening.
Deputies located and seized 9,295 grams of marijuana, 103 marijuana plants and more than 15 grams of hashish, with a combined street value of more than $168,200. A large amount of indoor growing equipment and paraphernalia was also seized, along with a pickup truck.
Three suspects were taken into custody. They were identified as Joseph M. Parnello, 37, Rockton, Ill., and Argyle, Wis.; Theodore W. Thompson, 33, Rockton; and Cara E. Beachum, 26, Argyle. All three were held at the Lafayette County jail.
The owner of the property in rural Argyle, Troy C. Thompson, 43, Rockford and Argyle, was taken into custody by SLANT agents in Illinois earlier in the day.
The investigation had been underway for several months, according to Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley.
Argyle Police Department is also assisting in the investigation.
