There's plenty to do at the fair

DARLINGTON - The 154th Lafayette County Fair, which kicks off Wednesday, will provide daily activities for just about any fairgoer.

The fair continues through Sunday at the fairgrounds, 701 E. Louisa St.

Wednesday's events include rabbit and goat judging as well as food, flowers and clothing judging throughout the day. Stock car races begin at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday, swine, poultry and dairy judging will take place. The Lafayette County Tractor Pullers will hold an open pull at 6:30 p.m.

Friday's events include music by country singer Jason Michael Carroll, known for such songs as "Livin' Our Love Song" and "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead."

Carroll takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. The Swamp Bottom Boys precede him on stage at 7 p.m.

Saturday's highlights include, the Lafayette County Area Tractor Pull at noon; the livestock and cheese auction at 1 p.m.; and the Badger State Tractor Pull at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday's events include Lafayette County's Got Talent at 11 a.m. and car races at 4 p.m.

Wenzel Amazements carnival rides and games will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from noon to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Grandstand seating is free Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, but grandstand tickets for Friday are $20.

Season passes for the fair are available for $20 for adults and $15 for people ages 13 to 16, but the passes do not include the cost of grandstand tickets.
