Theatre Guild to present holiday variety show

MONROE - The Monroe Theatre Guild will present the "Carol Burnett Holiday Variety Show" beginning Friday, Dec. 9.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10; 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 at the MTG building, 910 16th Ave.

The comedy of the Carol Burnett show has been brought to life on MTG's stage by the directing team of Roy Berrey, Keith Hoesly, Katie Landmark, Denise Plantenberg, Dave Ruegsegger and Kareesa Wilson. It features a troupe of actors, including John Baumann, Neal Minogue, Roy Berrey, Sheri Novak, Eric Boyd, Phil Rath, Katie Doyle, Suzann Holland, Bonnie Scheider, Heather Lisser, Tammie Smiley, Jim McNeil, Patty Tornow and Dave Ruegsegger.

It will feature musical performances with a holiday theme, performed by Landmark, Tornow and Simone Petitjean, Berrey and Minogue. Minogue will be the MC for the show.

The sketches will be performed as written for the popular "Carol Burnett Show" including "As the Stomach Turns," "Old Folks," "The Show Must Go On," and "Coffee Commercial."
