MONROE - Expect at least slight relief from the frigid weather when the temperature climbs to an expected high of 20 degrees Wednesday.

Monday's high hit 12 degrees, and the high today, Jan. 22, is expected to reach just 5 degrees. Windchill temperatures Monday night and early this morning were expected to dip to minus 30 degrees; a windchill advisory in effect all day Monday was expected to expire around noon today, according to the National Weather Service. The low tonight is expected to be 6 degrees.

The rest of the week promises similar mercury readings. The high through Friday is expected to reach 20 each day, with lows in the single digits or low double digits.

A slight chance of snow is predicted Wednesday through Friday.
