MONROE - Registration is underway for "One World, Many Stories," a summer of programs for all ages at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe. Brochures describing the reading programs and special summer events are available in the children's room and at the check-out desk. While registration began earlier this month, children may join the program at any time during the summer.

New to the Monroe Public Library's summer line-up is the Early Bird program for babies and toddlers to age three. This early literacy program encourages parents and caregivers to play with their children and practice the early literacy skills a child needs to master before they can learn to read.

The library invites children ages 3 to 6 to join the Reading Explorers program, and readers entering first to fifth grades may participate in the Globe Hoppers, a reading incentive program. Students entering middle school through high school will want to register for the You Are Here teen program.

Special events are scheduled for all age groups. Registration is now being taken for the first two Wild Wednesday Workshops for Globe Hoppers. At 1:30 p.m. today, June 15, "One World, Many Crafts" will feature crafts from around the world. Young actors will have an opportunity to craft a fish puppet then join the cast of the play, "The Girl Fish," during the Wild Wednesday Workshop, "One World, Many Players" at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.
