MONROE - Orion Group Home is seeking donations of new and like-new suitcases for girls as they transition to new placements.
Many of the girls who arrive at Orion bring their belongings in garbage bags or cardboard boxes. Organizers of the suitcase drive said they are seeking luggage for girls who are being discharged so "they can transition to their next placement with a sense of dignity and pride."
Orion can house up to five adolescent girls at a time.
Donations can be dropped off at Orion Group Home, 1725 15th St. Donors can also call Marcia Dahmen at 608-329-4044 to arrange pick-up. Monetary donations are also accepted for the suitcase fund.
