MONROE - The City of Monroe Parks and Recreation announced the activities for its Fourth of July celebration at Twining Park.

Proceeds from the daylong event will go toward the Twining disc golf course addition and improvements. Activities at the park include:

n Horse and wagon rides for all ages - 1 to 4 p.m. across from the south shelter.

n Petting zoo - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. across from jet.

n More than a dozen carnival games will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by the bandshell. The cost is $.50 for one ticket, $1 for three tickets or $5 for 15 tickets.

n Co-ed slowpitch tournament - 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Twining ball diamonds.

n Co-ed volleyball tournament - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Twining volleyball courts.

n Four-by-four soccer tournament - 7 a.m. to noon at the Green County YMCA.

Concessions from Knights of Columbus, Koning's Grill, National Historic Cheesemaking Center, Vince's Restaurant and Pizzeria and Parks and Rec will be available at the park.

The City of Monroe fireworks and Salute to America Sky Concert will begin at 9:30 p.m.
