DARLINGTON - Preliminary autopsy reports show Dustin Boeck, whose body was found in rural South Wayne on Nov. 10, likely passed away due to hypothermia, but toxicology reports are still pending.

Lafa-yette County Sheriff Scott Pedley said the toxicology reports could take a few more weeks, though Pedley said witness accounts seem to suggest Boeck may have been on some kind of intoxicant prior to his death.

Boeck, 30, South Wayne, was reported missing on Oct. 5 and was last seen on Oct. 3 leaving a residence in the evening hours. The sheriff's department received a report of a body in a wooded area adjacent to a field along the 6000 block of River Bend Road on Nov. 10. A person operating farm equipment in the field observed the body, and deputies and the Lafayette County Coroner responded.

Suicide and foul play are not suspected in causing Boeck's death, Pedley said. Pedley said the body appeared to have been at the location where it was found from about the time Boeck was reported missing.

Law enforcement spent the weeks prior to the discovery of the body searching, starting with the area where Boeck's car was found, very near his body on River Bend Road.

Police utilized a remote control flying drone equipped with high resolution cameras, Madison Police Department cadaver dogs, Dane County Sheriff's Dive Team, a diver from the South Wayne Fire Department to search the nearby Pecatonica River and a Department of Natural Resources boat in efforts to find Boeck.
