MONROE - A South Wayne man was charged last week with child enticement after he sexually propositioned an underage South Wayne girl in July.

Adam Duane Bliss, 35, was charged Aug. 1 with a Class D felony count of child enticement after a South Wayne girl reported receiving sexual proposals from Bliss via Facebook.

According to a criminal complaint, the girl started receiving Facebook messages from Bliss in July. Bliss was friends with the girl on the social media site.

An archived version of Bliss' conversation with the girl revealed that Bliss made several inquiries into the girl's sexual history and preferences, such as: "What's the oldest guy you ever been with?"; Would you ever do something with me?? Even though I'm married"; and "Wanna come over tomorrow after your dad leaves and maybe do something?"

The girl provided neutral or noncommittal responses to most of Bliss' questions, although at one point she clearly and explicitly told Bliss she was underage.

After the girl informed police of Bliss' comments, police confronted him at his residence. There Bliss told police that he was not trying to seduce the girl but was trying to "hook her up" with a friend of his. Bliss then backpedaled, saying a friend of his sent messages to the girl though Bliss' Facebook account.

The friend denied that he had ever used Bliss' Facebook account.

Bliss signed a $3,000 signature bond Aug. 2 with conditions that he have no contact with underage girls or use any social media service.

Bliss' preliminary hearing will take place Sept. 7. His maximum possible sentence is 15 years in prison.
