MONROE - A South Wayne man was arrested Tuesday for his sixth drunk driving offense.

Mark S. Miller, 61, was pulled over by police in the 100 block of 18th Avenue due to his vehicle swerving and was asked to perform a field sobriety test. Chief Fred Kelley said Miller failed the field sobriety test and was unsteady on his feet as soon as Miller stepped out of his vehicle.

"If it looks like your surfing but nothing else is moving," Kelley said, "that's an indicator."

Miller had additional citations for driving after suspension, open intoxicants in a vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon after a knife was found in the vehicle.

Miller was jailed pending court.

Online court records indicate Miller was convicted of DWI in January 2012, October 2012, April 2007, January 2004 and in February 2001.
