SLANT, Monroe Police arrest man for drugs

MONROE — A Monroe man was arrested Nov. 21 on drug possession.

At 11:04 a.m. that morning, Monroe Police, assisted by agents from the State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT), executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2100 block of 16th Avenue on Monroe’s south side. The search warrant led to the arrest of Luis A. Toledo, 21, Monroe, on charges of felony possession with intent to deliver tetrahydrocannabinols (Delta 9-THC), felony possession with intent to deliver psilocybin mushrooms, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Toledo was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance, which was scheduled for Nov. 25 in front of Green County Circuit Court Judge Faun Marie Phillipson. 

The SLANT Task Force consists of law enforcement personnel from the Illinois State Police, Rockford, Ill; Police Department; Freeport, Ill Police Department; Loves Park, Ill. Police Department; Belvidere, Ill. Police Department, Boone County, Ill. Sheriff’s Office; Green County Sheriff’s Office; Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office; and the Monroe Police Department.
