Showcase of Talent celebrates 20 years

MONROE - The Monroe Arts Center's 20th anniversary Showcase of Talent will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 1600 26th St. This annual event showcases a wealth of talented individuals and groups in an evening of family entertainment, with favorite acts from the previous 19 years.

Emceed by Big Radio personality Dan Blum, the Showcase will be presented in the same vein as a radio-type variety show, complete with vocal and instrumental musical entertainment, comedy and more, with an on-stage house-band. The house band includes musicians from the Monroe band, The Unusuals. They include Adam Bansley on rhythm guitar, Jon Koenig on guitar and percussion, Erik Madsen on drums, Steve Scheppele on keyboard and Scott Walters on bass guitar. Co-directors once again are Jackie Ceithamer and Tashona Smith. Saturday night's performance is scheduled for broadcast on Big Radio.

Cast members represent the Wisconsin communities of Blanchardville, Madison, Monroe, Monticello and Verona and Illinois cities Freeport, Lena and Stockton. Scheduled performers are Adam Bansley, Hillary Barnes, Donald Bradley, Jerry Bredenson, Adair Bristow, Tracy Bristow, Jessica Bystry, Jackie Ceithamer, Marcia Dahmen, Isabelle Driver, Ken Frerichs, David Hermanson, Ronald Hermanson, Ron Johnson, Nina Kanyeva, Kurt Kline, Janelle Kosek-Massey, Dave Moser, Nick Losco, Clyde Martin, Sierra McGuire, Gary Partridge, Natasha Patterson, Aaron Phillips, Terry Shaker, Tashona Smith, Zeke Smith, Mary Soddy, George St. Ores, Robert Vanderheyden, Kristen Weckerly, Megan Weimann, Jim Werkheiser, Jon Werkheiser, Delaney Wickstrum, Olivia Wiegel and Amy Zwicker.
