MONROE - A convicted sex offender will be released into the Green County community Saturday after more than 15 years in prison.
Bart E. Jenson, 45, was sentenced in December 2001 to six years in prison and seven years of extended supervision on two Class C felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child.
The charges stemmed from an incident in 2000 after he reportedly assaulted a teenage girl in her home twice. He also reportedly touched a young teenage girl over and under her clothes.
According to court records, Jenson violated his extended supervision in 2008 by failing to attend mandatory group counseling sessions, having contact with minors without the approval of his agent and leaving Wisconsin for work-related purposes. After these violations, Jenson returned to prison, where he will remain until Saturday.
Jenson will no longer be under direct supervision after his release, although he is a mandatory lifelong registered sex offender.
Jenson has not yet provided the Department of Corrections with an address at the time of his release. If he does not provide an address within 10 days, or does not follow the Department of Corrections' homeless program, Jenson will be returned to custody.
