DARLINGTON — A man convicted of child sex offenses is being released this month into an apartment in Darlington, according to the Darlington Police Department.

Alan J. Liphart, 35, will be living in an upstairs apartment at 209 Main St. He was most recently incarcerated at the state prison in Oshkosh, according to Department of Corrections records.

Court records show he was convicted of two Class D felony counts of child enticement in 2005 in Lafayette County and sentenced to eight years in prison and five years on extended supervision. He was previously convicted in 2001 in Green County of fourth-degree sexual assault and exposing genitals to a child, both misdemeanors.

Liphart is required to comply with lifetime supervision as a registered sex offender and will be on GPS monitoring. Rules of his supervision include no unsupervised contact with minors and no drugs.
