MONROE - It finally stopped raining, but it is too wet to do anything else, so now is the perfect time to take a drive in southeastern Green County to check out the nine sites of cover crops that were planted by airplanes late last August and early September. Many are brown and just helping protect the soil from raindrops, but some are alive and green. Very soon, farmers will be planting crops in those fields and the signs that designate them as tour stops will be removed.
Self-guided cover crop driving tour continues in Spring Creek
