MONROE — All area children and their families are invited to help welcome Santa to Monroe on Friday, Dec. 6.

The festivities will begin with the lighted Main Street Christmas parade, starting off from Monroe Middle School at 6 p.m. and then heading downtown and around the Historic Courthouse Square.

After the parade, Santa will make his way to Wisconsin Bank & Trust for a reception sponsored by the Monroe Tuesday Noon Optimist Club.

At the reception, children will have the opportunity for a personal visit with Santa and also get to sing along to Christmas carols with members of the high school choir. The middle school Junior Optimists will also be on hand to help children make some holiday craft items that can be taken home. Hot chocolate and treats will round out the evening and each child will receive a small gift.

Bring a camera for photo opportunities for the whole family.
