EXETER TOWNSHIP - A rural Belleville man died in a vehicle crash Saturday becoming the fourth traffic fatality in Green County this year.
Stevelyn E. Knutson, 48, was driving south on Wisconsin 92, near Schaffer Road, at 8:41 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, which forced him off the roadway, according to a statement from the Green County Sheriff's Department.
The vehicle overturned and Knutson was ejected, the statement said. He was not wearing a seatbelt; Knutson was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, Medflight was called and landed near the scene of the crash, according to the statement.
Alcohol did appear to be a factor in the crash, the Sheriff's department statement said.
A police officer from the Belleville and Brooklyn police departments, as well as Belleville EMS and fire department responded to the crash.
