MONROE — Multiple people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning north of Monroe on Wisconsin 69 near Cold Springs Road, according to the Green County Sheriff's Office.

Ambulances and the Monroe Fire Department were dispatched at 10:34 a.m. to the crash scene in the N4500 block of Wis. 69, located about two and a half miles north of Monroe.

"One vehicle was on its side and another was in the ditch area," said Sgt. Britt Gempeler.

Gempeler did not immediately have information on the number of people injured, but he did confirm that some vehicle occupants had to be extricated.

Traffic was detoured or limited to one lane for about an hour following the crash while deputies cleared debris.
