MONROE - An Albany driver injured in a rollover crash Tuesday evening was arrested on a second-offense charge of drunken driving and cited for having a loaded firearm in his vehicle.
William Robert Richardson, 30, was the only occupant of the vehicle, according to a release from the Green County Sheriff's Office.
The crash was reported at about 8 p.m. on Wisconsin 59 at Greenbush Road in the Town of Monroe. An investigation showed Richardson was eastbound when he lost control on a curve and hit an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll and land on its roof.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the crash. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.
Richardson admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the crash and tested positive for alcohol at the scene, according to the sheriff's office. He was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and cited for transporting a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, failing to maintain control of a vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
