BRODHEAD - The first phase of the 17th Street (County Highway GG) road improvement project in the city of Brodhead will begin on Monday and run through late October. During the project, 17th Street, from 1st Center Avenue to Ten Eyck Road, will be closed to through traffic.
As early as Monday, motorists may see partial closures of 17th Street, followed by a full closure of 17th Street on or about Aug. 25 which is projected to remain in place through Oct. 27.
The alternate route for through traffic between 1st Center Avenue and County Highway GG is 19th Street. Heavy truck traffic to the Kuhn North America complex is directed to reach the business from the south via County Highway GG to the truck receiving area located at W536 Ten Eyck Road.
Residents on 17th Street will have access to their driveways. There will be limited access to cross 17th on north/south running avenues. Drivers are encouraged to cross 17th Street east of construction area.
Those driving students to Brodhead Schools are strongly encouraged to take alternate routes.
