MONROE - The Green County Highway department crews will begin full-depth pulverizing and re-shaping of County N, beginning at the intersection of Wisconsin 81, west of Monroe. Reconstruction is expected to begin by mid-day Monday, but the exact date and times are weather dependent.
Because of the traffic volume and the configuration of the intersections, the road must be closed for several hours while crews and equipment are working at the intersection of Wis. 81 and again when crews get to the north end of County N at the intersection of County C.
Message boards have already been placed on the route to inform motorists about the upcoming road work and detour signs will be installed to mark the detour route. The detour will follow Wis. 81, County J and County C.
The road will be re-opened to regular traffic as soon as possible, but the road will need to be closed again a few days later during intersection paving operations. The department asks that drivers drive safely through work zones.
