Rivers still above flood stage, rain in forecast

MONROE - The Sugar River near Brodhead and the Pecatonica River near Martintown remain above flood stage following heavy rains late last week.

According to the National Weather Service, (NWS), the Sugar River was at about 5.4 feet as of 1 p.m. Tuesday. Flood stage for the river is 5 feet.

The Pecatonica River was at 13.8 feet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, which is .3 feet above flood stage.

Flooding is still present in fields nearby the rivers.

The NWS forecast included a 20 percent chance of rain showers Tuesday night and a 50 percent chance of showers today. Friday's forecast calls for more rain.
