MONROE - On May 10, the Green County Law Enforcement Administrators Association named their Law Enforcement Workers of the year for 2010.
Detective Robert Ritter, of the Albany Police Department, was selected as the Green County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Lead maintenance worker Patrick Nevil, of the Green County Sheriffs Department, was named Law Enforcement worker of the year.
Ritter's "hard work and professional accomplishments as an investigator for the Albany Police Department led to his selection, for the honor," said a statement released by the association.
And Nevil's "diligent efforts in maintaining the grounds and buildings of the Green County Sheriffs Department," led to his selection as the Green County Law Enforcement Worker of the year, officials added. Albany Police Chief Bob Levitt commended Ritter, saying he "enthusiastically approaches each case he investigates for the Albany Police Department.
Detective Ritter is extremely thorough and is very committed to his investigations."
Sheriff Jeff Skatrud also lauded Nevil, saying "that over the last seven years Pat's dedication to his duties ensured a safe working environment for the Sheriffs Department staff and saved Green County thousands of dollars in maintenance costs that would otherwise be contracted out."
The group annually selects both a Law Enforcement Officer and a Law Enforcement Worker of the year.
The association represents all criminal justice agencies and offices working in Green County.
